Job summary

State Street Corporation is seeking a Vice President to lead AI security and data protection governance, reporting to the Managing Director, Data Protection. You will establish enterprise governance, translate strategy into policies, and partner across Security, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Procurement to embed secure-by-design practices.

Qualifications

• Degree required: Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, AI Security and Data Protection, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• Years of experience: 10+ years in cybersecurity, AI security, data protection, security architecture, technology risk, or control governance.
• Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCSP, cloud security, or comparable industry certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of tools/technologies: Security and Data Protection discovery/inventory, PKI, cloud/enterprise security architectures, asset/configuration/governance/risk/compliance platforms, dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the enterprise governance framework for AI security, data protection, and emerging technology risk.
• Govern discovery, inventory, classification, and risk assessment of AI models, data assets, security controls, platforms, and integrations.
• Define risk-based prioritization criteria using data sensitivity, retention period, and business criticality.
• Design minimum control requirements, testing procedures, evidence standards, exception processes, and remediation expectations.
• Oversee the enterprise roadmap for transitioning vulnerable security implementations to secure technologies and control solutions.
• Partner with Security Architecture to embed AI security and data protection into design and engineering standards.
• Define due-diligence criteria for third-party products, cloud services, and contracts.
• Serve as SME for AI security governance with senior leadership, risk, compliance, auditors, clients, and regulators.
• Establish dashboards, KRIs, and metrics for inventory coverage, AI/data risk exposure, and remediation progress.
• Lead and develop a team responsible for governance, control oversight, and cross-functional execution.
