Job summary

State Street is seeking a Vice President of AI Security and Data Protection Governance to establish and oversee the enterprise governance framework for secure AI and data protection capabilities. This role will translate strategy into policies, standards, controls, and remediation programs, partnering across Security, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity, AI security, data protection, or governance.
• CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCSP, or similar certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain enterprise governance framework for AI security and data protection.
• Govern discovery, inventory, and risk assessment of AI models, data assets, and security controls.
• Define risk-based prioritization criteria using data sensitivity, retention, and criticality.
• Design minimum control requirements, testing procedures, and remediation expectations across tech stacks.
• Develop enterprise roadmap for transitioning vulnerable implementations to secure technologies.
• Embed AI security and data protection into solution design and engineering standards.
• Set due-diligence criteria for third-party products and cloud services.
• Act as SME for AI security governance with senior leaders, risk, and regulators.
• Establish dashboards and KPIs for coverage, risk exposure, and remediation progress.
• Lead a team responsible for governance, risk assessment, and cross-functional execution.
