Job summary

State Street seeks a Vice President for AI Security and Data Protection Governance and Controls to establish and oversee an enterprise framework. You will translate strategy into policies, standards, and risk decisions across security, risk, compliance, legal, and procurement.

You will lead a team, embed security-by-design, define due-diligence criteria for third-party products, and drive remediation programs to protect AI and data across platforms and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, AI Security and Data Protection, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, AI security, data protection, security architecture, technology risk, or control governance.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCSP or related security certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain enterprise governance framework for AI security and data protection; set policies, standards, and controls.
• Govern discovery, inventory, classification, and risk assessment of AI models, data assets, and tech dependencies.
• Define risk-based prioritization using data sensitivity, retention, criticality, exposure, and migration complexity.
• Specify minimum control requirements, testing procedures, and remediation expectations across platforms.
• Manage roadmap for migrating vulnerable implementations to secure technologies and controls.
• Collaborate with Security Architecture to embed security-by-design and governance into designs and standards.
• Define due-diligence criteria for third-party products, cloud services, and vendors.
• Act as SME for AI security and data protection governance with leadership, risk, and regulators.
• Create dashboards and KRIs for coverage, risk exposure, compliance, and migration progress.
• Lead a team responsible for governance, risk assessment, and cross-functional execution.
