Job summary

Ridgeline, a leader in AI-powered investment management software, is seeking a Principal Engineer for the AI Platform. You will shape architecture and directly contribute to product delivery, partnering with Engineering, Product and Data teams to deploy agentic AI capabilities across the platform, including data access, model routing, and token-efficient workflows.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with systems architecture.
• Production AI-powered product experience including agentic loops, structured responses, and tool use.
• Ability to design scalable architectures and choose AI tech components.
• Experience establishing reliability and evaluation standards for AI in production.
• Full-stack AI product development across front-end and back-end; Kotlin/TS/React.
• Experience with Anthropic/OpenAI models and APIs.
• Proven track record driving architectural decisions and stakeholder alignment.
• Success integrating third-party data sources and improving token efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical strategy and architecture for Ridgeline's AI platform.
• Lead architectural decisions enabling scalable, reliable, secure AI platform use.
• Identify and resolve systemic obstacles to platform availability and extensibility.
• Establish engineering standards and AI model reliability/evaluation criteria.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Product, Data and other teams to align AI investments.
• Architect solutions for retrieval-augmented data access and token-efficient usage.
• Propose and evaluate new AI features to advance platform capabilities.
