Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Field Service Technician - Diesel Engine Specialist for East Tennessee. You will be the go-to expert for large industrial diesel engines, focusing on Volvo 13L/16L engines across the Sandvik fleet.

You will diagnose faults, perform in-frame and out-of-frame repairs, and support field service on all Sandvik equipment. You will work under the Field Service Manager, ensuring engine reliability per OEM specs, supporting warranty claims, and mentoring other technicians.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical or electrical background and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with large industrial diesel engines and engine troubleshooting.
• Ability to diagnose faults using OEM manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair large industrial diesel engines (Volvo 13L/16L) in field and workshop.
• Perform engine rebuilds, supported sub-systems repairs, and post-repair testing.
• Provide field service for Sandvik equipment, minimize downtime and ensure OEM specifications are met.
• Prepare accurate field service reports, order parts, and support warranty claims.
• Coach and mentor other technicians on engine diagnostics and rebuild practices.
