Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Field Service Technician with a strong mechanical/electrical background and extensive diesel engine experience. The role centers on diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding large industrial engines, with emphasis on Volvo 13L/16L units, in the field and workshop.

The position requires travel to various sites, adherence to safety standards (MSHA), and the ability to work independently while providing superior customer support and technical guidance to teammates.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding large industrial or off-highway diesel engines.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fault-find on diesel engines in the Sandvik fleet, focusing on Volvo 13L/16L engines.
• Perform in-frame and out-of-frame engine repairs and rebuilds to OEM tolerances.
• Repair engine sub-systems including fuel, air, cooling, and electronic controls.
• Remove and install engines and major components; perform testing and run-in.
• Document work orders, times, and failure details in Maximo and Dayforce.
• Follow site safety requirements and maintain equipment and tools to standards.
