Job summary

Sandvik AB in the United States (Kershaw, SC) is seeking a Field Service Technician – Diesel Engine Specialist. You will diagnose, repair, and rebuild large industrial diesel engines, with a focus on Volvo 13L and 16L engines, while supporting field service on Sandvik equipment and other OEMs.

Travel to sites within the region is required, with a strong emphasis on safety and documentation. The role requires five years of hands-on diesel engine experience, proficiency with diagnostic tools, and

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding large industrial or off-highway diesel engines, including Volvo 13L/16L.
• Proficiency with electronic engine diagnostic tools and software, precision measuring instruments, and OEM engine service documentation.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• MSHA Part 46/48 training (or ability to obtain).
• Experience in MSHA-regulated underground mines, quarries, or surface mining.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fault find on large industrial diesel engines with OEM tools.
• Perform in-frame and out-of-frame engine repairs and rebuilds.
• Repair engine sub-systems: fuel, air, cooling, electronic management, and exhaust aftertreatment.
• Remove and install engines and major components, and test post-repair performance.
• Provide field service on Sandvik equipment and other OEMs as needed.
• Prepare accurate field service reports and time entries.
