Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Wheaton, IL is seeking substitute teachers who demonstrate a strong Christian faith and active church involvement. You will deliver LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis, following provided curricula and maintaining a safe, engaging classroom environment.

The role includes completing substitute training, communicating with volunteers and teachers, and upholding LifeWise discipline policies while representing the academy in the community.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis
• Implement the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom following LifeWise policies
• Follow the program's student discipline policy
• Take attendance in each class and provide records to the teacher
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom
• Know procedures for emergency situations
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community
• Communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and assign duties
• Communicate with the teacher

LifeWise substitute teachers will demonstrate excellence in Biblical knowledge and teaching abilities. The ideal candidate is an active church participant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is caring, perceptive and proficient in teaching students.
