Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Maryland Health Care System, is seeking a Voluntary Services Officer to supervise the Center for Development & Civic Engagement/Voluntary Service and coordinate volunteer programs across three medical centers.

The role leads staff evaluations, recruitment, donor management, and partnership building with community organizations, with telework eligibility an option and a standard 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. schedule.

Qualifications

• Education credentials must be recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Plans and evaluates subordinate staff and adjusts program emphasis as needed.
• Supervises Volunteer Service Specialists at three medical centers.
• Manages recruitment, screening, assignment, and dismissal of volunteers.
• Oversees donations and the VA gift program, with audits and reporting.
• Develops and coordinates partnerships with community resources.
