Job summary

Peninsula Agency on Aging in MD is seeking an Options Counselor for the Veterans Directed Care (VDC) Program to support aging in place for veterans and caregivers across MD, DC, and VA. This remote role emphasizes counseling, assessments, and care planning.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field, experience with veterans, and strong interviewing and written communication skills, plus willingness to travel regionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required.
• Experience with veterans and/or disabled adults desired.
• Excellent interviewing, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to use computers, software, and mobile technology.

Responsibilities

• Advise veterans and caregivers on services and resources to support aging in place.
• Screen and complete assessments, provide options counseling, and develop care/service plans for veterans.

Education
