Job summary

Grace Klein Community in Pelham, AL, is seeking a motivated Volunteer and Serve Team Assistant to recruit, organize, and manage volunteers for FeedBHM Pelham. The role supports onboarding, engagement, and day-to-day operations to empower our community.

Key duties include coordinating onboarding, recruiting Serve Teams, tracking hours and KPIs, and assisting with donations and event tasks. Flexible, on-site work schedule Monday–Friday with occasional events.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in volunteer coordination, community engagement, or related fields is a plus.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Passion for social justice, community empowerment, and serving those in need.
• Spanish-speaking or bilingual preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating volunteer onboarding and orientation.
• Recruit and engage Serve Teams and volunteers.
• Track volunteer hours and program impact metrics.
• Support daily operations and events at FeedBHM Pelham.
• Maintain clean, welcoming facilities and manage communications.
• Support Food Rescue and donation processing as needed.
