Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Volunteer Coordinator to join our client in Welkom. You will recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support services in the Free State community.

The role focuses on creating a positive volunteer experience, scheduling, records, and liaison with staff to place volunteers effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, and a hybrid work arrangement is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in volunteer management, HR, or a related field.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate, train, and supervise individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency with volunteer management software or databases.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive task management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for recruiting, screening, onboarding volunteers.
• Plan and conduct orientation and training sessions for volunteers.
• Manage volunteer schedules and assignments with adequate coverage.
• Provide ongoing support, supervision, and recognition to volunteers.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records (hours, contact information, performance).
• Liaise with program staff to identify volunteer needs and placements.
• Organize volunteer appreciation events and activities.
