Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to oversee volunteer groups across county service projects and to build connections with local corporations, churches and community partners. The role includes data collection, reporting, and collaboration with Corps Officers and the Director of County Community Relations and Fundraising.

Responsibilities include recruiting, training, screening, coordinating county volunteer activities, updating project databases, and planning Christmas

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, non-profit management, social services or similar.
• Three years’ experience performing volunteer coordination with a non-profit organization.

Responsibilities

• Recruits and refers volunteers for designated county, including scheduling and placement for service projects.
• Updates a Volunteer Service Project database monthly which lists and describes multiple volunteer services projects within the county for every Salvation Army program in the North Texas Area Command.
• Coordinates county Christmas volunteer projects to include Corps locations on-site training and seasonal support staff.
• Makes initial contacts with malls within the county prior to the season and confirms participation and details for Christmas volunteer projects.
