Job summary

The Salvation Army Evansville Corps is seeking a Community Development Coordinator to recruit and develop volunteers, coordinate community service, and expand fundraising and engagement across Vanderburgh, Warrick and Posey Counties.

You will manage volunteer databases, create newsletters, coordinate events, and promote the ministry through social media and digital content while representing The Salvation Army in the community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Background check required; results reviewed.
• Experience with nonprofits, volunteers, community partners preferred.
• Experience with social media, digital content, and graphic design platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and develop qualified volunteers from the community.
• Maintain volunteer database and generate reports.
• Provide training and ongoing education for volunteers.
• Create monthly newsletters highlighting service opportunities.
• Coordinate volunteers for Christmas Red Kettle Campaign and other events.
• Develop promotional materials and establish community partnerships.
• Represent The Salvation Army at community meetings and events.
