Job summary

The Salvation Army Milwaukee County Command is seeking a dedicated professional to oversee Volunteer Services. You will lead recruitment, screening, orientation, placement, and recognition of volunteers, while coordinating program development and evaluation.

You will manage collaborations with local organizations, structure volunteer job descriptions, and ensure Safe From Harm training where required. This role emphasizes community impact and program excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating volunteers and programs
• Ability to recruit, screen, orient, place and recognize volunteers
• Experience with evaluating programs and volunteers
• Must have valid Wisconsin driver’s license and approval to drive

Responsibilities

• Directs recruitment to grow the volunteer base and maintains the volunteer database
• Ensures screening matches interests and skills to opportunities
• Develops volunteer job descriptions and program guides
• Provides Safe From Harm training where required
• Plans volunteer recognition activities and events
• Coordinates reporting of volunteer activities and maintains records
• Liaises with volunteer support agencies and represents The Salvation Army
• Oversees large-scale Milwaukee Area Command volunteer events and seasonal programs
• Collaborates with Development Department to build relationships with local volunteer leaders and partners
