Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to support and coordinate daily operations of the volunteer program across campus and system-wide. The role assists the volunteer leadership team to develop, implement, and manage programs, projects, and initiatives for the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience coordinating and supporting programs.
• An Associate or higher degree, in a related field, may substitute for the experience requirements on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

• Organize and participate (as requested) in the volunteer interview process with the goal of identifying qualified volunteers and ensuring the best use of their talents while addressing the needs of the hospital, patients, families, and staff.
• Proficient in all volunteer roles to provide general hospital support and when appropriate, assignment specific training for volunteers
• Provides support to the volunteers during their assigned shifts by helping to secure coverage for absent volunteers and substitute for volunteers when needed.
• Utilizes the volunteer database to update volunteer data, pull applications, enter assignments and pull reports.
• Responsible for welcoming, orienting and supervising volunteers during community special events.
• Provides support for special events by promoting the event and arranging volunteers' schedules
• Ensures documentation and accurate record keeping with regard to privacy pledges, orientation check lists, and photo releases.
• Provides a high level of customer service support and assistance to donors
• Performs accurate donor record keeping functions, including distributing and storing in-kind donations and donations are forwarded through the respective teams
