Job summary

World Relief in Durham, NC is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to empower local churches and volunteers to serve immigrants in the Triangle region. This hybrid role includes in-office work four days a week and one day remote.

You will design ongoing volunteer opportunities, recruit volunteers, conduct trainings, and coordinate interns and housing initiatives with faith communities and partner organizations.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating volunteers or interns in a nonprofit or church setting.
• Strong communication skills and ability to speak publicly at events.
• Ability to manage multiple volunteer relationships and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate volunteer program development with Durham program managers and set metrics.
• Lead volunteer recruitment at churches, events, and via social media.
• Onboard volunteers, manage background checks, hours, and training delivery.
• Supervise interns and coordinate internship needs with program managers.
• Coordinate Welcome House housing coordination and resolve scheduling issues.
