Job summary

Above and Beyond Family Recovery Center in Chicago seeks a Volunteer/ Outreach Coordinator to develop, implement, and manage the volunteer program. You will recruit, screen, train, schedule, and retain volunteers, serving as the liaison between volunteers, staff, and community partners to integrate volunteers into programs and services.

The ideal candidate is organized, personable, community-oriented, and passionate about engaging volunteers to make a meaningful impact.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience coordinating volunteers, community outreach, customer service, human resources, or program coordination.
• Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, behavioral health, or community-based organization is preferred.
• Knowledge of nonprofit operations and community engagement strategies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, train, schedule, and retain volunteers to support programs and services.
• Serve as liaison between volunteers, staff, and community partners.
• Develop and implement strategies to recruit qualified volunteers.
• Build partnerships with schools, businesses, and community groups.
• Coordinate orientation sessions and onboarding activities.
• Match volunteers with opportunities based on interests and organizational needs.
• Develop and maintain volunteer schedules; monitor assignments and performance.
• Provide coaching, support, and ongoing communication to volunteers.
• Collaborate with HR, program leadership, and partners to support initiatives.
