Job summary

City of Garland seeks a part-time Volunteer Operations Assistant to provide field, equipment, and logistical support for Volunteer Garland programs, with an emphasis on Garland Cares. You will prepare project sites and equipment, maintain tools and inventory, and assist volunteers in the field while following SOPs and safety practices.

Work is outdoors and indoors, with evenings and weekends possible. Starting pay is $17.00 per hour for about 15 hours per week, supporting volunteer projects,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with lawn, landscaping, maintenance or similar tools preferred.
• Experience in parks, facilities, or volunteer environments preferred.
• Equivalent education, training, or volunteer service may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Support field projects with lawn, yard maintenance, cleanup and basic construction tasks.
• Assist with equipment logistics, inventory, and project setup at sites and events.
• Help supervise volunteers and provide clear task instructions.
• Maintain records of equipment checkout, usage, and maintenance.
• Represent Volunteer Garland professionally during events and outreach.
