Job summary

The City of Garland seeks a part-time Volunteer Operations Assistant to support Volunteer Garland programs, field projects, and community events. You will help prepare sites, maintain equipment, and assist volunteers to ensure safe, positive experiences.

Work includes outdoor and indoor tasks, evenings and weekends as needed, with a starting pay of $17.00 per hour and a 15-hour weekly schedule. Valid Texas driver’s license required for field duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience using lawn, landscaping, maintenance, construction, or similar tools preferred.
• Experience in landscaping, parks, facilities, or volunteer settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain organized inventory of Volunteer Garland tools, equipment, supplies, and related materials.
• Check equipment and supplies in and out using established inventory procedures.
• Prepare, stage, load, transport, unload, and return equipment and supplies for volunteer projects and events.
• Support volunteer projects involving lawn and yard maintenance, property cleanup, landscaping, brush and debris removal, painting, etc.
• Take appropriate before, during, and after photographs and video of Volunteer Garland projects and activities.
• Assist with organizing volunteers at project sites and provide clear task instructions.
