Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Full-time Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to manage the volunteer experience, including recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and ongoing support for individual and corporate volunteers. The role collaborates with program leadership to align engagement with organizational priorities and to support client services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, communications, or public policy with 2+ years nonprofit volunteer experience OR 5 years with HS diploma.
• Experience in fundraising or nonprofit programs is a plus.
• Act 33/34/73 clearances; valid driver’s license; pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee volunteer onboarding, training, and communication to ensure successful engagement.
• Develop and implement a volunteer recruitment strategy to expand engagement.
• Manage the in‑kind gifts program, including solicitations and donor acknowledgement.
• Coordinate team‑based and corporate volunteer activities; support events and outreach.
• Collaborate with program leadership and Development to align engagement with priorities.
