One Federal Solution is seeking an experienced Volunteer Manager to support our Federal Government client in New London, Connecticut. You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, engagement, and retention of volunteers in a public-facing institutional environment.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in volunteer management, community outreach, nonprofit programming, or program coordination, and excels at relationship-building and creating an engaging volunteer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in HR, social sciences, communications, museum studies or related field.
• Experience in volunteer management, community outreach, nonprofit programming, or program coordination.
• Strong public speaking, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Recruit volunteers for public-facing, educational, and administrative support functions.
• Interview prospective volunteers and coordinate onboarding and vetting activities.
• Develop and deliver volunteer orientations and training.
• Match volunteer skills and interests with organizational needs.
• Develop and maintain volunteer shift schedules for coverage.
• Maintain databases and records of volunteer participation and hours.
• Serve as primary point of contact and advocate for volunteers.
• Develop volunteer communications, newsletters, and web updates.
• Coordinate volunteer appreciation activities and events.
• Collaborate with education personnel to prepare volunteers and docents.
• Support volunteer retention, engagement, conflict resolution, and performance management.
• Build community relationships to support recruitment and engagement.
