Job summary

Houston Food Bank is seeking a Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to be the first contact for new and returning volunteer groups, acting as an ambassador for the volunteer experience. The role oversees registration, scheduling, and on-site logistics for tours, catering, and opportunities.

You will collaborate with Volunteer Services to improve programs, recruit volunteers at events, and communicate updates via newsletters while maintaining a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in administrative support.
• Minimum 2 years in-person customer service.
• 1+ year in volunteer programs preferred.
• 1+ year scheduling and event coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage volunteer group scheduling and inquiries via phone and email.
• Maintain volunteer management system and group registrations.
• Coordinate arrivals, check-in, and on-site logistics.
• Assist with group tours, catering, and special events.
• Promote volunteer opportunities at outreach events.
• Prepare newsletters highlighting opportunities and updates.
