Job summary

Veterans Inc. seeks a dynamic, hands-on Volunteer Coordinator to manage our volunteer program. Reporting directly to the Community Engagement Manager, you will drive recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention strategies to optimize volunteer efforts.

You will recruit and onboard volunteers, serve as primary contact, partner with Marketing/Development, manage data, and represent the organization at external events. A bachelor's, CORI check, and vaccination compliance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, human services, communications, public administration, business administration, social services, or related field required; equivalent military experience considered.
• 0–2 years of volunteer coordination, nonprofit administration, community engagement, program coordination, customer service or related field.
• Must pass CORI/Background check.
• Must comply with COVID-19 vaccination policy or approved exemptions.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and onboard volunteers through outreach channels and partnerships.
• Serve as primary contact for volunteers, handling inquiries, schedules and recognition.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Development to create recruitment collateral and donor stewardship.
• Track program data, hours and compliance in the Donor Management System.
• Represent the organization at community meetings and volunteer events.

What You’ll Be Responsible For Day To Day

• Recruit and onboard individual and group volunteers through diverse outreach channels and community partnerships.
• Serve as the primary contact for all volunteers, responding to inquiries, feedback, schedules, and appreciation initiatives.
• Partner with Marketing and Development to create recruitment collateral and steward corporate, foundation, and individual donors.
• Manage program data by tracking impact metrics, volunteer hours, and compliance documentation within the Donor Management System.
• Represent the organization at external community meetings, volunteer fairs, and regional networking events.

What You Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, human services, communications, public administration, business administration, social services, or a related field required. Equivalent military experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in volunteer coordination, nonprofit administration, community engagement, program coordination, customer service, event coordination, or a related field.
• Must be able to successfully pass a CORI/Background records check.
• Compliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Religious and Medical Exemptions are considered.

Salary: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
