Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Winamac, IN seeks a reliable CDL bus driver to transport public school students to and from the LifeWise site. You will be responsible for safety, punctuality, and maintaining the bus.

The role requires a CDL with P endorsement, a clean driving record, and willingness to undergo background checks and drug testing. You will work with the LifeWise team to create a caring, secure transport environment for students.

Qualifications

• Mature personal Christian faith aligned with LifeWise Academy beliefs.
• Active participation in a local church aligned with LifeWise Academy beliefs.
• CDL with Passenger endorsement (P) required; School bus endorsement preferred.
• Ages 21–80; driver over 75 must provide CDL copy annually.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in 5 years.
• Background check and drug/alcohol testing required.
• Annual physician's statement may be required for medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Enforce safety rules for students.
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor.
• Be aware of students needing help or misbehaving.
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy.
• Volunteer in LifeWise classrooms if approved by the director.
