Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Indiana is seeking a part-time CDL bus driver to transport students safely to and from the LifeWise site. The role requires a clean driving record, adherence to traffic laws, and a patient, caring demeanor with children.

The ideal candidate will be at least 21, maintain current CDL with passenger endorsement (P), pass background/MVR checks, and complete required trainings. Employment is non-exempt hourly.

Qualifications

• A mature Christian faith aligned with LifeWise Academy's Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in a local church with doctrine aligned to LifeWise Academy's beliefs.
• CDL driver's license with passenger (P) endorsement required; School bus (S) endorsement preferred.
• Age 21–80; drivers over 75 must submit CDL copy and (P) endorsement annually.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in five years.
• Background check through LifeWise Academy and FMCSA Clearinghouse check.
• Must pass Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and drug/alcohol testing as required.
• Annual underwriter-approved Physician's Statement for drivers with medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain bus cleanliness and mechanical safety; perform bus inspections.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create a safe environment for children; enforce safety rules.
• Assist students entering or exiting the vehicle.
• Demonstrate a calm, caring demeanor and monitor students.
• Complete LifeWise Academy training and volunteer in classroom if approved.
