Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Indiana is seeking a LifeWise CDL bus driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for students and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site. The role requires punctuality, responsibility, and a personal Christian faith aligned with the LifeWise beliefs.

The candidate must hold a CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement (S endorsement preferred), maintain a clean driving record, and pass background checks, MVR, and FMCSA Clearinghouse screenings.

Qualifications

• CDL license with passenger vehicle endorsement (P) required; School bus (S) endorsement preferred
• 21–80 years old; license held continuously for past 3 years; annual CDL copy required if over 75
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in the last five years
• Background check through LifeWise Academy; pass FMCSA Clearinghouse and MVR checks
• Drug and/or alcohol testing required; yearly Physician's Statement for known medical conditions

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus
• Perform regular inspections of the bus
• Refuel the vehicle as needed
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children
• Enforce safety rules for students
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor
• Be aware of which students need help or are misbehaving
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the director
