Job summary

LifeWise Academy is hiring a LifeWise CDL bus driver to provide safe transportation for public school students to and from the LifeWise site. The role requires a mature Christian faith, active church involvement aligning with our Statement of Faith, and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities include transporting students, maintaining bus safety and cleanliness, conducting regular inspections, and enforcing safety rules. Training and possible classroom volunteer opportunities are included.

Qualifications

• CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement (P) required
• School bus endorsement (S) preferred
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in last 5 years
• Must pass background check and drug/alcohol testing as required
• Annual CDL license and endorsements documentation for drivers over 75 may be required

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus
• Perform regular inspections of the bus
• Refuel the vehicle as needed
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children
• Enforce safety rules for students
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor
• Be aware of which students need help or are misbehaving
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if agreed with director
