Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks a responsible CDL bus driver to transport public school students to and from LifeWise sites, ensuring safety and dependability.

The role requires a CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement, a clean driving record, and willingness to undergo background and drug testing. A mature Christian faith aligned with LifeWise beliefs is required for this position.

They will complete LifeWise Academy training and may volunteer in the LifeWise classroom as agreed.

Qualifications

• CDL driver’s license with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) required.
• School bus (S) endorsement preferred.
• Age 21–80 years old.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five years.
• Background check through LifeWise Academy.
• Drug and/or alcohol testing as required (pre-employment, random, and after incidents).
• yearly Physician's Statement for drivers with known medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws and maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus and refuel as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children; enforce safety rules.
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle and demonstrate a calm, caring demeanor.
• Be aware of students needing help or misbehaving; complete LifeWise Academy training.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the director.
