Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a CDL bus driver to transport public school students to and from the LifeWise site. The driver must be safe, punctual and maintain a clean driving record while upholding our faith-based commitments.

The role requires CDL with passenger endorsement, completion of background checks and drug testing, and adherence to LifeWise safety policies. Training and potential classroom volunteer opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• CDL license with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) required.
• School bus (S) endorsement preferred.
• Age 21-80 years.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five years.
• Background check and drug/alcohol testing required.
• Annual submission of CDL license and (P) endorsement for drivers over 75.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children
• Enforce safety rules for students.
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle as needed.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor.
• Be aware of which students need help or are misbehaving.
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the director.
