Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of healthcare or diagnostic testing experience preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with EHR systems required.
• Experience with VNG or neurological diagnostic equipment is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct VNG (Videonystagmography) tests as scheduled with accuracy and efficiency.

POSITION SUMMARY

The VNG Technician is responsible for conducting Videonystagmography (VNG) tests and providing exceptional patient care throughout the testing process. This role is critical to delivering accurate diagnostic testing while maintaining patient comfort and confidence. The VNG Technician manages patient scheduling, confirmations, and follow-ups, maintains detailed records, and ensures that all test reports are accurately documented and uploaded according to organizational standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct VNG (Videonystagmography) tests as scheduled, ensuring each test is completed accurately and efficiently
• Send reminder texts to patients with upcoming appointments to confirm their attendance
• Reach out to approved patients to schedule their VNG test appointments
• Call patients who haven't responded to confirmation texts to try and confirm their appointments over the phone
• Regularly update the case management spreadsheet to maintain accurate and up-to-date records
• Contact patients who missed or canceled their appointments to try to reschedule at their earliest convenience
• Ensure VNG reports are uploaded promptly to maintain accurate records and billing by the end of the week
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records related to VNG testing and results
• Assist in equipment setup and ensure all VNG equipment is functioning properly before each test
• Provide clear instructions to patients regarding test procedures and what to expect during VNG testing
• Monitor patients during testing and document any observations or concerns
• Clean and maintain VNG equipment according to infection control protocols
• Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy rights in accordance with HIPAA regulations
• Collaborate with other clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and coordinate care
• Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on VNG procedures and equipment
• Assist in identifying bottlenecks in the testing and scheduling pipeline and suggest improvements

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare or diagnostic testing setting preferred
• Experience with VNG testing or other neurological diagnostic equipment is a plus but not required
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic health records systems required
