Job summary

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts seeks an experienced LVN or RN Didactic Hybrid Instructor for its Vocational Nursing Program at the Van Nuys campus. The role is full-time and hybrid, with remote/online synchronous teaching and on-campus meetings as needed.

The ideal candidate holds a California RN or LVN license, a Bachelor’s degree, and relevant teaching experience, ready to advance nursing education in a dynamic program.

Qualifications

• BVNPT requires a Bachelor’s degree for LVN/RN faculty candidates.
• Must hold California active RN or LVN license.
• Minimum of three years’ RN/LVN experience in the last five years.
• One year full-time teaching experience in a state-approved nursing program or meet applicable teaching requirements.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned didactic classes remote/online synchronous for the Vocational Nursing program.
• Meet with didactic and clinical faculty to discuss program development.
• Attend campus meetings for faculty and advisory board activities as needed.
• Support Campus Director and Nursing Program Leadership in organizing and implementing program standards.
• Maintain current knowledge of medical education and CME requirements.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach assigned Didactic classes Remote/Online Synchronous for the Gurnick Campus Vocational Nursing program.
• Meet with didactic and clinical faculty members to discuss program development
• Availability to Meet on Campus as a need basis for Faculty meetings, Advisory Board Meetings, selected instruction classes, etc.
• Support the Campus Director and Nursing Program Leadership in the organization of the program and implementation of the program’s standards.
• Maintain continuous knowledge of medical education and assure about the facilities continuous medical education requirements.

QualificationsRequirements

• The BVNPT is requiring a Bachelor’s degree for LVN and RN for faculty candidates
• An instructor in a vocational nursing program shall have or be currently attending a course offered by an approved school in teaching; and shall meet the requirements of: Subsection A or B, below:
• (A) Registered Nurse:
• Hold a current California active license as a Registered Nurse; and
• Hold a baccalaureate degree from an approved school; or a valid teaching credential; or have completed a minimum of one year full-time teaching experience in a state approved registered nursing or vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; or met community college or state university teaching requirements in California; and
• Have a minimum of three years experience as a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse within the last five years
• (B) Licensed Vocational Nurse:
• Hold a current California active license as a Vocational Nurse; and
• Hold a baccalaureate degree from an approved school; or a valid teaching credential; or have completed a minimum of one year full-time teaching experience in a state approved registered nursing or vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; or met community college or state university teaching requirements in California; and
• Have a minimum of three years experience as a vocational nurse within the last five years.
