Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5–7 years designing, deploying, and supporting large VMware environments.
• Experience migrating legacy VMware sites to VMware Cloud Foundation or newer stacks.
• Strong automation background with PowerCLI, vRA, Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell/Python.
• Experience with Aria Operations (VRL/VRNI) for log analytics and network insight.
• Understanding of storage (EMC/Isilon, Pure, NetApp, iSCSI) and vSAN integration.
• Deep networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, NSX-T.
• Experience applying AI ops concepts and cost optimization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; stakeholder influence; mentorship.
• Project management skills; Agile/ITIL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration to VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF9) with zero downtime and security baselines.
• Design and evolve the VMware stack (vSphere, NSX-T, vSAN, Aria Ops, VRLI, VRNI) for low latency and high availability.
• Implement IaC (Ansible, Terraform, PowerCLI) to automate provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Deploy AI assistants (LLM chat ops) for ticket triage, predictive alerting, and root cause analysis.
• Create self-healing playbooks to remediate performance or capacity events.
• Configure monitoring thresholds, dashboards, and alarms in Aria Operations, VRLI, VRNI.
• Use AI anomaly detection to anticipate capacity bottlenecks before production impact.
• Drive process improvements and standardisation; ensure security baselines and CIS guidance.
• Interface with vendors; coordinate with global IT teams for enterprise standards.
• Participate in DR planning; maintain RPO and RTO targets for critical workloads.
• Provide Tier 2/3 production support; 24x7 on-call rotation; perform upgrades and patches.
