Job summary

Long Finch Technologies, LLC. is seeking an IT VMware Systems Engineer to manage real-time capacity, drive server refreshes, and support a rapid onboarding of the Follow the Sun model.

The role focuses on VMware vSphere8+, NSX-T, and vSAN, with strong automation and AI ops to optimize performance and costs. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 5–7 years of hands-on VMware experience, and a proactive, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years designing and supporting large VMware environments.
• Experience migrating to VMware Cloud Foundation or similar stacks.
• Strong automation using PowerCLI, vRA, Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell/Python.
• Hands-on with Aria Operations suite and log analytics tools.
• Storage and networking knowledge relevant to vSAN deployments.
• Networking fundamentals and NSX-T concepts.
• Experience with AI ops concepts and cost optimization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; stakeholder influence.
• Agile/ITIL experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform architecture and migration to modern VMware stack.
• Automate provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Operate AI-enabled monitoring and self-healing playbooks.
• Maintain thresholds, alarms, and dashboards in Aria Ops and VRLI/VRNI.
• Ensure security baselines and CIS hardening practices.
• Coordinate with vendors and global IT teams on standards.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support and incident response.
• Deliver executive dashboards on SLA, costs, and health.
