Job summary

Long Finch Technologies in Jersey City is seeking a Senior IT VMware Systems Engineer to lead, design, and optimize a large-scale virtualization platform. You will drive migration to VMware Cloud Foundation, implement Infrastructure as Code, automate provisioning, and ensure security baselines and high availability.

The role requires strong hands-on VMware expertise (vSphere 8+, VCF 9), automation scripting (PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform), and collaboration with global IT teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5–7 years hands-on designing, deploying, and supporting large VMware environments (vSphere 8+, NSX-T, vSAN).
• Experience migrating legacy VMware sites to VMware Cloud Foundation 9 or newer.
• Strong automation background with PowerCLI, vRA, Ansible, Terraform, and PowerShell/Python.
• Hands-on with Aria Operations suite (VRLI/VRNI) for log analytics and insights.
• Understanding of enterprise storage and networking integrating with vSAN.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration to VMware Cloud Foundation 9 with zero downtime and security baselines.
• Design and evolve VMware stack for ultra-low latency and high availability.
• Automate provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management via IaC tools.
• Deploy AI-assisted ops for ticket triage and anomaly detection.
• Maintain monitoring dashboards and thresholds in Aria Operations, VRLI, and VRNI.
• Collaborate with global teams to align with enterprise standards and governance.
