Job summary

Express Employment International seeks a VMS Project Specialist to join the VMS MSP Team and drive strategic sales and account development while managing VMS client programs. The position can be remote, but the Oklahoma City market will operate with four in-office days per week and one remote day, subject to business needs and department guidance.

Job Details: Job Location: Corporate Headquarters - Oklahoma City, OK 73162, Position Type: Full Time, The Corporate Office of Express Employment International is seeking a dynamic VMS Project Specialist to join our VMS MSP Team. In this impactful role, you will drive strategic sales and account development initiatives while playing a key part in managing VMS client programs. Acting as a trusted operational partner, you will combine data-driven insights, proactive client and MSP support, and continuous process optimization to enhance program performance and deliver exceptional client experiences.

This position can be considered remote. However, Express Employment International believes in the value of in-person collaboration to support teamwork, creativity and connection. Employees in this position who are located within the Oklahoma City metropolitan market are expected to work a four (4) day in-office schedule, with the flexibility to work remotely one (1) day each week, based on business and department needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain deep expertise in the financial and operational requirements of all VMS accounts managed by Program Managers, serving as a reliable backup and trusted advisor. Act as a direct point of contact for clients, offices, and MSP partners, making timely business decisions to ensure seamless program delivery
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in the day-to-day operations of Vendor Management System (VMS) tools and platforms, ensuring accurate and efficient program management
• Analyze operational and financial reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, delivering actionable insights that drive informed decision-making and program optimization
• Play a key role in new client implementations by leading critical activities such as coordinating background packages from approved vendors, building worker uploads, provisioning VMS access for offices, developing client-specific tools, and creating onboarding materials. Serve as a vital contributor during VMS transitions for existing clients
• Support the Strategic Sales team throughout the sales cycle by actively participating in prospect calls, internal strategy sessions, and other initiatives as needed
• Continuously evaluate and optimize existing processes to increase sales performance, enhance operational efficiency, and improve the overall experience for franchisees, office staff, clients, and MSP partners. Proactively deliver recommendations to the Director and Program Managers to drive meaningful improvements
• Leverage and maximize a variety of technology platforms — including advanced VMS systems, Microsoft Teams, and the full Microsoft Office suite — to boost productivity and deliver exceptional results

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-3 years of hands‑on experience in a Vendor Management System or Managed Service Provider role, such as VMS Coordinator or VMS Specialist
• Four-year degree preferred

• Self‑motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment while effectively managing multiple tasks and maintaining high productivity with minimal supervision
• Strong decision‑making and judgment skills, capable of drawing on experience and company guidelines to make timely, effective decisions and communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent time management and prioritization abilities, with a high sense of urgency and the capacity to differentiate between urgent and important tasks to consistently meet deadlines
