Job summary

Border States Industries, Inc. is seeking a VMI Coordinator to oversee Vendor Managed Inventory programs for Border States customers in Curtis Bay, MD.

This role coordinates VMI Warehouse, job boxes, job trailers, and vending machines, handling orders, inquiries, pricing, and inventory processes to ensure efficient deliveries. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory levels, communicating with customers and branches, and applying SAP functions to keep operations accurate and timely.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a two-year business/trade degree or the equivalent in work experience.
• Minimum 2 years of prior warehouse distribution and/or city desk experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of electrical products or systems preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on job duties (travel, driving company vehicle, etc.).
• Prior experience operating a forklift is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak in English required.
• Strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), internet, email, SAP, SupplyTrax and Secura Stock software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the VMI program with a clear vision of the VMI concept.
• Coordinate with the customer and branch on all additions, changes, and deletions to the VMI programs.
• Transition inventories and implement programs after proposal approval.
• Ensure accurate communication, follow through, and documentation of VMI projects and processes.
• Maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels.
• Monitor VMI performance to meet customer goals.
• Promote customer service through teamwork with Account Managers.
• Coordinate VMI warehouses, job boxes, job trailers and vending machines.
• Perform SAP functions to ensure warehouse and deliveries run efficiently and accurately.
• Communicate with internal and external customers on orders, inventory, and deliveries.
• Work with sales/marketing to meet branch sales and gross profit objectives.
• Obtain orders and provide proactive service including order entry, expediting, pricing, returns, deliveries, and inquiries.
