Job summary

Vallen Distribution, Inc. is seeking a Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) Coordinator I in Springfield, MO. The role focuses on delivering and managing inventory at customers' sites, ensuring accurate shipments and proper setup of VMI areas.

You will drive to customer locations, perform barcode scans, and support inventory optimization with a proactive, team-oriented approach. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year in warehouse, inventory, or delivery roles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year experience or training in warehouse, inventory counting or delivery.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to learn and work on semi-routine assignments.
• Must be a self-starter able to work with supervision.
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to complete tasks correctly and on time.
• Proactive, positive team approach to problem resolution.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with customers, co-workers and management.
• Willingness to learn company products and represent Vallen professionally.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicles to transport and deliver goods to designated locations complying with DOT standards and regulations.
• Ensure accuracy of shipments to customers.
• Assist with VMI customer space/placement and set up areas to receive shipments.
• Follow orders from pickup at Vallen's warehouse/DC to delivery and site setup.
• Take customer spot buy orders and relay to CSR or Account Rep.
• Scan barcodes at customer sites to generate orders.
• Perform VMI functions at point-of-use areas: loading, receiving and minor repairs.
• Monitor min/max, reorder points, and report observations to management.
• Recommend changes to customer inventory levels based on usage.
• Keep barcode labels up to date and inform management when new labels are needed.
• Assist in annual inventory counts on consigned items.
• Present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and managers.
• Maintain 5S in VMI point-of-use areas.
• Perform other duties as requested.
