Job summary

Vallen Distribution is seeking a Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) Coordinator I to deliver and manage inventory at customers' designated sites. You will perform the physical or administrative tasks involved in storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise and equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year experience or training in warehouse, inventory counting or delivery.
• Valid driver\'s license per company standards.
• Willingness to learn and work on semi-routine assignments.
• Must be a self-starter with ability to work under supervision.
• Ability to understand and carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
• Proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with customers, coworkers and management.

Responsibilities

• Drive company commercial vehicles to designated locations following State and Federal DOT standards.
• Ensure the accuracy of shipments to customers.
• Assist with VMI customer space/placement and set up receiving areas.
• Follow customer orders from pickup to delivery and setup at site.
• Take customer spot buy orders and relay to CSR or Account Rep.
• Scan barcodes at customer site to generate orders.
• Perform VMI functions at Point of Use areas including loading and receiving.
• Maintain awareness of min/max, reorder points and report observations to management.
• Recommend changes to customer inventory levels based on usage.
• Ensure barcodes are up to date and legible for scanners; notify when new labels are needed.
• Assist in annual inventory counts on consigned items.
• Present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and managers.
• Maintain 5S in VMI areas.
• Perform other duties as requested.
