Job summary

Gap Inc. is seeking a Sample Coordinator to serve as the sample expert for the visual merchandising and store styling teams.

You will report to the Sample Manager and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure samples are tracked, accounted for, and returned in a timely, organized manner. The role requires strong detail orientation, time management, and communication skills, with experience in retail or styling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate sample ordering, receiving, tracking, and upkeep for ads samples.
• Track samples used for mock store sets and visual displays.
• Flag workflow variances and communicate impact to the team.
• Collaborate with teams to borrow missing samples and arrange returns.
• Place orders with DCs for missing samples and special requests.
• Maintain organized sample closets and handle end-of-season disposal.

About the Role

The Sample Coordinator will be the sample expert and key point of contact for all advertising samples for the Gap visual merchandising and store styling team. This role will report into the Sample Manager while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure all samples and requests are appropriately tracked, accounted for, and returned in a timely, organized manner.

What You’ll Do

• Support team deliverables with timely sample ordering, receiving, tracking, organizing, and maintenance. Responsible for samples used for mock store sets and visual displays.

• Understand and communicate any specific sample variances that might impact workflow.

• Work with manager and cross-functional teams to identify any missing samples that need to be borrowed leading up to store sets. Return borrowed samples on time. If samples are unavailable, help to troubleshoot for alternative solutions.

• Place orders with distribution centers as needed for missing samples and one-off requests.

• Keep sample closets organized. Manage the donation/disposal of samples at the end of a season to make room for the next season’s samples.

• Experienced in MS Office (Excel, Word)

• College education preferred with 2+ years in retail, merchandising, or styling role.
