Job summary

FourLeaf Federal Credit Union is seeking a Temporary VITA Assistant to support the VITA/TCE program during tax season. The role combines virtual and in-person duties, including appointment scheduling, tax preparation, and quality reviews. Training and IRS tax law certification are required.

Travel to Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, and NYC partner sites is expected. You will prepare returns, verify documents, and assist with e-file processes, while ensuring secure handling of sensitive information.

Qualifications

• Some college or equivalent coursework completed.
• Willingness to travel to partner locations as needed.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Comfortable using video conferencing tools and handling sensitive information securely.

Responsibilities

• Schedule in-person or virtual appointments with taxpayers.
• Assist with tax preparation and input of data.
• Support taxpayers by verifying documents and guiding through e-file process.
• Conduct quality reviews of completed tax returns and coordinate video sessions to finalize filings.
• Support VITA teams at partner locations across Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, and NYC.
