Job summary

Center for Family Life in Sunset Park seeks a VITA Tax Program Manager Assistant to support the free VITA site by recruiting volunteers, scheduling, and supervising staff while ensuring IRS compliance and high-quality tax service for low- and moderate-income taxpayers.

You will assist in coordinating volunteer training and certifications, work with staff and clients, and help manage operations during tax season.

Qualifications

• Language: Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Experience: Tax prep and volunteer coordination experience.
• Certifications: IRS Advanced course required to provide guidance to volunteers.
• Technical Skills: Comfort with tax software, computers, and internet platforms.
• Work Ethic: Flexible, organized, and independent with leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in volunteer recruitment and scheduling for the VITA site.
• Supervise tax preparers and intake staff; ensure IRS certifications.
• Support day-to-day site operations and client services; maintain confidentiality.
• Assist in tax return review and transmission; provide guidance under IRS standards.
