Thrive Virginia is seeking a VITA Program Assistant to support free tax preparation services for eligible individuals and families. The role includes client intake, registration, appointment scheduling, data entry, reporting, volunteer support, and community outreach in Hanover County.

This temporary, part-time, non-exempt position (13 hours weekly) requires completion of the IRS VITA/TCE Certification Class and related training, with a focus on confidentiality and professional customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with coursework in social services or accounting.
• Must successfully complete required VITA training and IRS VITA/TCE Certification Class.
• Experience with VITA or tax preparation is preferred.
• Experience in nonprofit or community services is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Complete IRS VITA/TCE Certification Class and required VITA training.
• Assist with client intake, registration, scheduling, and day-to-day operations.
• Help clients understand VITA eligibility and required documentation.
• Maintain confidential client records and perform data entry and reporting.
• Provide professional, welcoming customer service and outreach in the community.
• Support outreach events in Hanover County and coordinate with partners.
