Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, required.
  • Nebraska Teaching License with endorsemnt in Visual Impairment.
  • Knowledge of teaching methods and special education.
  • Salary placement per negotiated agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with general and special education teams to meet student needs.
  • Fosters students’ self-esteem and engagement.
  • Plans and guides learning to meet VI program objectives.
  • Uses diagnostic and progress assessments to monitor progress.
  • Selects effective instructional methods and materials.
  • Supports ongoing curriculum development of the program.
  • Keeps accurate records and aligns with IEP goals and district procedures.
  • Maintains compliance with IEP, MDT, Progress Reports, and related laws.
  • Communicates with parents, guardians, and staff.
  • Works with a diverse student population.
