Job summary

Soliant is seeking a Teacher for the Visually Impaired for a contract role near Hastings, Nebraska. You will provide direct instruction, assessment, and collaboration to students with visual impairments across multiple grades.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Teacher for the Visually Impaired licensure.
• Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments.
• Knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive equipment.
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with families and staff.
• Flexibility to meet diverse student goals and school initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and consulting services for students with visual impairments across grade levels.
• Assess functional vision and learning needs; recommend and implement modifications.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum for accessibility.
• Train staff in Braille, large print, and assistive technologies to foster independence.
• Support families to empower progress in academics and development.
• Monitor student progress and maintain records as part of a multidisciplinary team.
