Job summary

Rantoul City Schools is seeking a Visual Impaired Itinerant Teacher to provide services to students aged 3-21 with visual impairments in the Rantoul area. The role includes diagnostic, instructional, and consultative duties under the director of Special Education and building principal.

Qualifications include Braille proficiency, willingness to serve other districts, and a Standard Special Education Certificate with Visual Impairment endorsement.

Qualifications

• Braille knowledge and teaching of Braille.
• Willingness to serve other districts upon request and schedule availability.
• Standard Special Education Certificate for ages 3-21 with Visual Impairment endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with students, parents, teachers, and staff.
• Deliver diagnostic and instructional services to students with visual impairments.
• Develop and implement IEP goals in collaboration with the IEP team.
• Provide direct instruction and consult with classroom teachers in least restrictive environments.
• Utilize adaptive equipment and technology to meet individual student needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate records of services and progress.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development activities.
• Collaborate with health and eye-care professionals as needed.
