Job summary

American Girl, a Mattel subsidiary, seeks a Visual Merchandiser for the flagship Chicago store to lead new product launches, floor sets, and daily display maintenance. You will execute planograms, create engaging doll-focused displays, and ensure adherence to high visual standards across the retail space.

You will collaborate with leadership to adapt windows and spreads, stay current on product knowledge, and balance priorities to support sales and guest experience.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of successful work experience in retail merchandising or related field.
• Knowledge of general visual principles with emphasis on construction and detail.
• Manual skills in doll styling, straight blade cutting, and minor assembly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and quickly within a team.
• Ability to lift and push a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Wlexible schedule to include early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrated growth mindset and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist Visual Leadership Team with display window changes, merchandize changes and planogram layouts.
• Create dynamic displays using dolls and complementary product; maintain product knowledge.
• Prioritize tasks based on business needs and manage product availability issues.
• Maintain overall visual and merchandising standards aligned with the brand vision.
• Foster positive relationships with staff, management and partners; assist customers as needed.
• Stock merchandise when required.
