Job summary

Denton Independent School District seeks a dedicated Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments to provide specialized instruction and support under the IEP framework. You will collaborate with families, campus staff, and related service providers to ensure students access the general curriculum and make progress toward goals.

Responsibilities include conducting functional vision evaluations, developing instructional plans across ECC areas, and coordinating assistive technology and braille

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Master’s degree preferred
• Valid Texas teaching certificate required
• Valid Texas TSVI certification required
• Experience with visual impairment and special education settings preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and services to students with visual impairments per IEP goals
• Develop sequential instruction based on assessments and goals
• Deliver ECC-aligned instruction including assistive technology and braille resources
• Assist classroom teachers in adapting materials for access
• Participate in ARD meetings and contribute to IEP development and monitoring
