Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is seeking a Special Education Teacher-Visual Impairments to join our team in Mesquite, TX. You will develop and implement IEPs for students with visual impairments and collaborate with staff, families, and therapists to support each child’s growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Special Education Certificate per TX DOE requirements.
• Experience with IEP writing and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student.
• Communicate progress and challenges with families and staff.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and obtain administrator approval.
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school.
• Use individualized reinforcement techniques to support student growth.
• Encourage family involvement in each student's progress.
• Create and distribute progress reports quarterly.
• Collaborate with on-site therapists on behavioral issues.
• Maintain a safe, productive classroom environment.
