Job summary

Brenham Independent School District is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired to provide specialized instruction and services to students with visual impairments ages 3-21. The teacher will conduct functional vision and learning media assessments and prepare written reports.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with ARD, IEP goals, and service delivery models.
• Ability to adapt curriculum for visually impaired students.
• Strong collaboration with staff, families, and specialists.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with parents and staff to develop IEPs via ARD.
• Coordinate Braille or large-type materials and assistive tech.
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
• Provide specialized instruction aligned to curriculum and IEP goals.
• Participate in ARD meetings and advise classroom teachers.

Education

Bachelor’s degree

Texas teaching certificate with SPED endorsements
